Sikh organizations hail PM’s initiative to call all party meet on J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 21: Various Sikh Organizations have welcomed the all party meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the burning issues of Jammu and Kashmir. In a meeting of the various Sikh Organizations held under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh Chief Organizer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and Ex-member District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu it was demanded that the representative of refugees of 1947 of POK be inducted in the meeting of all parties. The meeting also demanded the restoration of state hood to Jammu and Kashmir and the election be conducted to establish the popular government because the public is suffering without popular Government, there are no developmental works. The members also sought reservation of four assembly constituencies-two from Jammu and two from Kashmir for refugees belonging to Sikh minority community. It is also demanded release of pending compensation of Rs 24.5 lakh to refugees families as only Rs 5.5 lakh out of 30 lakh has been released so far. It is also demanded that the quota for refugee unemployed youths be fixed in recruitment at par with other reservations for SC, ST categories. Those present in the meeting included Darbinder Singh President Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Rajinder Singh General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Raja Singh Sarpanch member DGPC Jammu, Ravinder Singh Sarpanch & General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Charanjeet Singh (KAS) retired SDM (Convener Punjabi Chetna Manch), Prof Yudhvir Singh Corporator, Gajan Singh President J&K Motor Transport Company Association, Kulwant Singh Khajuria Joint Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Surinder Singh Kala President Fruit and Vegetable Association and several others.
