Food eatry closed for neglecting sanitary, hygienic parameters | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 24: Acting swiftly on a specific complaint, Food Safety authorities of Jammu conducted surprise inspection of food eatery ‘Barbeque Nation Hospitality’ at Greater Kailash Jammu. The checking squad found the kitchen of eatery totally unhygienic and unhealthy neglecting the sanitary and hygienic parameters as mandated under the Provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, rules/regulation 2011. It recommended action against proprietor of the restaurant under section 56 and 58 of the Act. Pertinently, manufacturing and processing or sale of any food article for human consumption under unhygienic or unsanitary conditions is punishable offence under Section 56 of the Act, with a fine which may be extended to one lakh rupees. The authorities immediately stopped the commercial activities of the restaurant besides issuing improvement notice with the direction to carry necessary renovations within 10 days to meet the set sanitary parameters, failing which action as warranted under the aforesaid Act & regulations made there under shall be initiated without any further notice. During the inspection, samples of prepared Chicken, Paneer and Dal have been lifted by the food safety officer for analysis. |
