SRINAGAR, June 24: Jammu & Kashmir reported 448 new positive cases of COVID-19 following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 13,476. Following 11 fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus in the union territory reached 4,284. Srinagar district reported 95 new cases followed by Reasi district 47, Anantnag district 36, Baramulla district 32, Pulwama district 30, Doda and Kishtwar districts 23 each, Jammu district 22, Rajouri district 19, Budgam district 18, Kupwara district 17, Bandipora district 15, Ganderbal district 14, Udhampur district 13, Ramban district 12, Poonch district 11, Kathua district eight, Kulgam district six, Samba district five and Shopian district two cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 448 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 183 from Jammu division and 265 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 13,476. Also, 11 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, eight from Jammu division and three from Kashmir division. Moreover, 682 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 170 from Jammu division and 512 from Kashmir division. One new case of mucormycosis has been reported today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 27. Besides this, 80.54 percent of the population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 13,476 positive cases, 6,537 are active positive, 3, 02,655 have recovered and 4,284 have died; 2,087 in Jammu division and 2,197 in Kashmir division. Out of 96, 79,738 test results available, 93, 66,262 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 23, 53,939 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 25,971 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6,537 in isolation and 2, 06,497 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 10,650 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,524 positive cases, 1,139 active positive, 67,561 recovered, 824 deaths; Baramulla has 23,116 positive cases, 498 active positive, 22,341 recovered, 277 deaths; Budgam has 22,415 positive cases, 505 active positive, 21,708 recovered, 202 deaths; Anantnag has 15,936 positive cases, 376 active positive, 15,362 recovered, 198 deaths; Pulwama has 14,777 positive cases, 363 active positive, 14,226 recovered, 188 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,649 positive cases, 445 active positive, 13,043 recovered, 161 deaths; Kulgam has 10,947 positive cases, 260 active positive, 10,573 recovered, 114 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,505 positive cases, 205 active positive, 9,224 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,217 positive cases, 214 active positive, 8,904 recovered, 99 deaths and Shopian has 5,542 positive cases, 22 active positive, 5,462 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,317 positive cases, 726 active positive, 50,461 recovered, 1,130 deaths; Udhampur has 11,117 positive cases, 111 active positive, 10,875 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,636 positive cases, 234 active positive, 10,185 recovered, 217 deaths; Kathua has 9,176 positive cases, 57 active positive, 8,970 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,049 positive cases, 74 active positive, 6,857 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,716 positive cases, 641 active positive, 5,965 recovered, 110 deaths; Poonch has 6,028 positive cases, 268 active positive, 5,672 recovered, 88 deaths; Ramban has 5,771 positive cases, 131 active positive, 5,579 recovered, 61 deaths; Reasi has 5,657 positive cases, 141 active positive, 5,474 recovered, 42 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,381 positive cases, 127 active positive, 4,213 recovered, 41 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 13,476 positive cases in J&K, 22,080 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
