Cultures are meant to be saved not to be disdained | | | Diksha Dogra
Cultures are meant to be saved not to be disdained. We all know that India is known for its culture but very few people have shown their interest in saving it. Due to their indulgence in a rat race, they are quite influenced by other cultures. Isn’t it peculiar? They hardly have any idea about their cultures. As per them, it’s all about the difference in thoughts but the truth is it’s more than that. It’s about our values and integrity. This article is based on an affable person who is devoting his life to promoting Dogra Culture and Heritage – Sugam Bral. He has shown his tenacity in letting the new generation know about their cultures so that they can understand and flourish them. He has represented the Dogra Culture and Heritage at the state as well as at the national level and many people have witnessed it. The lad was born on 27th April in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir and since his childhood, he was influenced by the Dogra culture and heritage that he participated in various dramas, plays, and social events. When people love to spend time in fun at a very young age, he joined theatre. He never skipped a moment thinking about promoting Dogra Culture. His love for culture made him focused and dedicated that he created a spectacular community - Jammu Diary - A Dogra Socio-Cultural and Literary Trust. He organized a workshop on capacity building on heritage preservation of JAMMU and the Resource Person for the workshop was APARNA TANDON, Project Manager, ICCROM Collections Unit, ROME, ITALY, A UNESCO body for cultural heritage preservation & Convener PATH which made great success everywhere. When this happened he craved for more. He then started Dogri Radio and completed 100 Episodes of Dogri Radio on Facebook with incredible Dogra personalities from Art, culture, literature, education sports, and many other fields. These personalities include Dr.Karan Singh, Padmashree Padma Sachdev, Padmashree Balwant Thakur, PadamShree Shiv Nirmohi, Premi Jat, SavantrBharat Mithun Manhas, and Legendary Santoor Player Shiv Kumar Sharma. His thinking is not limited to only one thing but also to other areas like for the very time conducting webinars on health awareness, celebrating festivals with Dogri culture, and making the First Dogri song with title in Takri Script (Dogri Script) – “Jaan Sha Pyara” When you uncover your purpose and if that purpose is serving others - nothing can stop you. At that time, you are living with blessings. Sugam’s purpose and vision have brought more love and awareness in our youth towards our culture. He is the one seeking more and more to preserve our culture. We need more people like him who can start smattering about our Dogra’s talent and culture. |
