| Body of woman found under suspicious circumstances in Dal Lake | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 24: Body of a 36-year-old woman was on Thursday found under suspicious circumstances in world famous Dal Lake in the summer capital, Srinagar. Official sources said that panic gripped Foreshore road area in the city when some locals saw body of a woman floating in the lake. “The locals immediately informed the police,” they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body of the woman (name withheld) was taken away. They said the woman is a resident of Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. “It was not immediately clear if the woman committed suicide or she was murdered,” they said.
They said police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident. “After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased would be handed over to her relatives for last rites,” they added. |
