Jammu, June 25: Shree Vishwakarma Library & Research Centre (SVLARC), New Plot Jammu paid rich tributes to Vishwanath Pratap Singh (7TH Prime Minister of India) with strict protocol of the COVID-19. However, few members garlanded the portrait of VP Singh, and shared Cake and sweets. Ramesh Angotra, (Convenor) threw light on the life history of V.P Singh and stated that he was born on 25 June 1931, at Prayagraj, studied in University of Allahabad, Col. Brown Cambridge School, Fergusson College, Savitribai Phule Pune University. He was also the last ruler of Manda, having become the chief in 1941. He later became the Minister of Defence and Minister of Finance in Congress party Govt. Raman Chalotra, (Vice Chairman) said that VP Singh was Prime Minister of India in the period (1989–1990). He was not only a politician but very good Painter, and Poet also. Chalotra further elaborated that V.P Singh was the pioneer who implemented Mandal Commission Report for grant of 27% Reservation to OBCs in 1990 which was opposed by both Congress and other parties. Prominent among others who participated in the conference include, Raj Kumar Chalotra, Prof Kalidas, M.R Bangotra, Kewal Fotra, Om Kataria, Vishal Krotra, Joginder Angotra, Balwant Kataria, Master Kuldeep Raj Malhotra, Ajay Singh Charak, Ashok Salgotra, Isha Angotra, Harshita Angotra, Deepak Mehra, Ram Pal Chargotra. |
