Kalakote, Jun 29: EBSB Club in collaboration with Literary Club and NSS unit of GDC Kalakote under the guidance of Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the college organized online Lecture on the topic: How to stop 3rd wave of Covid-19 “Do’s and Don’ts”, in commemoration to “ Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”.
On January 30, 2020, India confirmed its first coronavirus case in Kerala, since then the country has been battling this pandemic. With a massive second wave of Covid-19, the healthcare infrastructure of the country got overstressed with Covid numbers rising at a breakneck pace. This situation put India in a bind with the Centre and state doubling down efforts to bring the worrying situation under control and now when the second wave of Covid-19 is on downward trend and we have barely put behind the horrors of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, experts have already sounded alert for the third wave.
We are yet to prepare ourselves for the subsequent wave which according to experts is likely to begin in near future, making it important for all of us to realize yet again that prevention is better than cure. It was in this context that GDC Kalakote organized this online Lecture to sensitize people about the situation we are facing and how important it is for all of us to take the responsibility of fighting back in whatever way possible.
The programme began with a welcome address presented by Dr. Shezad Ahmed, Coordinator NSS unit, who welcomed the chief patron for the event, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GDC Kalakote, other faculty members and the participating students for taking time for this event. After the welcome address was presented, the programme continued with a detailed Lecturer given by Prof. Marve Sofi, Convener Literary Club wherein she highlighted Covid-19 protocols in great detail .
She further stressed on the fact that as a community, it is important for all of us to realize that we have to make collective efforts to slow down the disease and prevent it from spreading to others by strictly adhering to the Sop’s pertaining to Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking on the event through an online platform, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the college, focused on the theme of the event: How to stop 3rd wave of Covid-19 “Do’s and Don’ts”. He emphasized on the fact that, we are supposed to handle the situation better this time and not repeat our past mistakes.
At last, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the college appreciated the organizing committees for organizing this online lecture and also the faculty members and the students for their great response.
