Early Times Report

Jammu, June 29: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Tuesday condemned the alleged forcible interfaith marriage of Sikh girl with an elderly man in the Kashmir Valley.
While interacting with a Sikh members’ delegation which called on the BJP leader at his residence, he said that such unwarranted actions under a well knit conspiracy by some unscrupulous elements in the Valley will not be tolerated and he will soon take up the matter with the concerned quarters in the government to safeguard the rights of minorities in J&K.
The deputation, reposing faith in the leadership of Kavinder Gupta, expressed gratitude to the BJP leader for rightfully projecting their issues in the All Party Meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on June 24, 2021. The delegation reiterated the demand of implementing Minority Act in Jammu and Kashmir on the lines of other states of the country as the same has been implemented across the country.
After giving a patient hearing to the delegation, Kavinder assured that he will continue to highlight the demands of Sikh community before the concerned quarters of the government and will ensure that all the demands are addressed at the earliest. Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta kick-started development work here in Digiana locality falling in the jurisdiction of Ward No 45. He assured the people that all their aspirations with regard to civic issues will be fulfilled sooner than later.
He said that there will be no delay in the execution of works and no compromise on the quality as well.
Remembering the Corporator of the aforesaid Ward, Kavinder said that though she had left for heavenly abode but it is our responsibility to fulfill her commitment with the people of the area.
“We will strive to accomplish all the promises which she had made to people as a tribute to her.
Others who accompanied Kavinder Gupta include Vinay Gupta BJP District President, Narinder Koki Secretary, Satpal Chowdhary Vice President and Hari Om Sharma.
