Early Times Report

Jammu, June 29: A meeting of prominent citizens of Panchayat Halqa Atholi-Sub-Division Padder, District Kishtwar, was held at Tehsil H.Q, under the chairmanship of District Development Council (DDC) member Hari Krishan to discuss the burning problems in the area.
Addressing the gathering, DDC member expressed great shock and anguish over the most un-hygienic, irregular & dirtiest supply of water in the town despite three water supply schemes being sanctioned.
He said that the matter has been brought to the notice of Dy. Commissioner Kishtwar as also concerned authorities a number of time but of no use as a result whole population as also the visitors are suffering badly and the day is not far when some water born diseases may breakout and risk several lives for which whole responsibility lie on the shoulders of administration.
The DDC Member further expressed wonder and shock that in PHC Atholi, Massu & Sohal, 14 doctors are posted but often they remain absent from their duties or take turns as a result general public is the ultimate sufferer and are forced to come down to District Head Quarter Kishtwar for the treatment for petty ailments.
The DDC Member warned that in case no remedial steps are taken, the public shall be forced to come-on streets for which the administration shall be solely responsible. Others who spoke & were present on the occasion include Ram Singh Chauhan, Ab. Majid Bichoo, Gh. Qadir Batt Vijay Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Duni Chand, Balraj Parhiar & Ved Raj.
