ANTF arrests narcotics smugglers, recovers 2 kg heroin worth crores | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 22: Anti Narcotics Task Force J&K has arrested three narcotics smugglers and recovered over two kilograms of heroin worth crores of rupees on their disclosure. According to press release, ANTF had got an input that some consignment of Heroin is being carried from Khour to Akhnoor in a Scooty bearing registration number JK02BA-0104. After receiving this information ANTF laid nakas and during checking the team intercepted the said Scooty driven by Naresh Kumar @ Kurkaa son of Mohan Lal R/o village Mangiyal Avtara Tehsil- Khour Jammu. During thorough checking one packet of Heroin like substance weighing approx 1 Kg was recovered and seized accordingly. The parcel was bearing 777 mark which indicated its cross border links. Naresh Kumar was arrested and put to sustained questioning during which he revealed that two more persons namely Kamal Singh @ Kali S/o Bakil Singh R/o Rishi Colony Khour and Balbir Singh @ Kala (Ex-Army Personal) S/o Jagga Singh R/o Rishi Colony Khour deals with heroin smuggling and have concealed one more packet of Heroin somewhere near International Border known only to them, the press release send by ANTF reads. During a series of raids both the suspects were detained and put to sustained questioning during which they admitted to the fact that they have concealed one more packet of Heroin near international border. The arrested accused persons were taken to the site near International Border Garar Khour which they indicated during their revelations. Army was also taken on board and the other packet of heroin was recovered on the instance of the suspects near the international border Khour. The packet weighing approx 1 Kg bearing the 777 mark again indicated towards cross border links. On further interrogation the accused persons revealed the modus operandi of the cross border drug smugglers wherein, they disclosed that the Pakistan drug dealers throw the consignment towards Indian side and was supposed to be lifted by these accused persons. A case under relevant sections of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered in the instant case. Anti Narcotics Task Force J&K is investigating the further details of this cross border drug cartel and its detailed forward as well as backward linkages
