For 100% transparency, Govt reconstitutes key committees in SKIMS | CS to head Apical Selection Committee | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 26: To ensure transparency, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has reconstituted all key committees at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura Srinagar including the Apical Selection Committee. The Government has issued formal orders to effect the changes and excluded the incumbent Director SKIMS from all these committees. Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta will head the Apical Selection Committee which has been reconstituted by government order No. 578-JK (GAD) of 2021. The Apical Selection Committee will have eleven members including Administrative secretary of Health and Medical Education, Nominee of the chairman, Governing body SKIMS, Director AIIMS New Delhi, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Prof. M S Khuroo. Former Director and Dean SKIMS, Director General Codes, Finance Department, Principal Medical College Srinagar, Dean medical faculty SKIMS, Additional Director, SKIMS (Member Secretary) and Medical Superintendent SKIMS Medical College. The Government has also reconstituted the Purchase Sub-Committee of SKIMS and Director General, Codes, Finance Department has been designated its chairman. The eleven member committee will have the powers to effect purchase up-to Rs 20.00 Cr at a time subject to the availability of funds, reads the order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi (IAS) Commissioner Secretary General Administrative Department. The Government has also reconstituted the Senior Selection Committee and Junior Selection Committee of SKIMS. The strength of the Senior Selection Committee is six while the strength of the Junior Selection Committee is five. Director General, Codes, Finance Department will head both the selection committees. Important to mention here that incumbent Director SKIMS, whose services were extended for six months last month, has been excluded from these committees. SKIMS was also facing serious allegations of mismanagements and nepotism in making recruitments and procurements. |
