GDC Batote celebrates national parents’ day

Jammu, July 27: Under the banner of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” Government Degree College Batote celebrated “National Parent’s Day”.
The Department of English in collaboration with the Debates and Seminar Committee of the college organized an inter college Audio/Video Talk Competition on the theme “Role of Parent’s in the Digital Age”. The prime focus was to bring awareness among the students about the merits and demerits of excessive use of digital gadgets. On the one hand Digital Revolution has enormously improved our day-to-day life, but on the other hand it has also resulted in moral crisis and suicidal tendencies among the teenagers especially.
Students from different colleges participated in the event with great ferver. The best three presenters were awarded Certificates of Appreciation. Miss Sana Shareef of GDC Batote bagged the first position and the second position was secured by Mubashir Rehman Pedhar of GDC Banihal, and Suneel Singh and Ritik Kumar of GDC Batote jointly bagged the third position. The programme was conducted under the patronage of the Principal of the College, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta and was hosted by Prof. Ashaq Hussain, Head Dept. of English with active support of Dr. Om Raj Katoch, Head Dept. of Economics.
