Job on fake certificate; Court rejects bail of fraudster | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 3: A local Court in Jammu District rejected the bail application of Gafoor Ahmed who got selected as constable in police on fake matriculation certificate. During the course of issuance of appointment order an anonymous complaint was received against selected candidate namely Gafoor Ahmed S/o Doud R/o Sagoon, Jammu regarding production of fake matriculation certificate. The said candidate was not appointed due to pending verification of educational qualification certificates and the complaint was forwarded to SDPO Nagrota along with Xerox copy of the matriculation certificate of the accused. 3. Now the SDPO Nagrota vide his letter dated 13-06-2018 has communicated that a detailed verification report has been received from J&K BOSE vide Letter No. F (Veri-B) JD/2018/2525 dated 31-03-2021 conveys that the said certificate is clear cut fake. The accused was also called by SDPO Nagrota who has deposed in the enquiry that he obtained 10th class certificate from one Zaffar R/o Poonch A/P Sani Colony, Jammu on payment of Rs 10,000 and used the said certificate for his selection J&K Police. The act on the part of the accused prima facie proves commission of offence of cheating by making forged document and using the same as genuine before competent authority for obtaining job in Police department which warrants legal action under law. On receipt of this letter a case FIR No. 109/2011 u/ss. 420, 467, 478, 471 RPC has been registered. Spl. Mobile Magistrate Passenger Tax Khem Raj Sharma after hearing APP Manmohit Sharma for the prosecution observed that governing principles, the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, considering the societal interest and the State, the bail is rejected. —JNF |
