Two injured in mysterious blast

BANIHAL, Aug 7: Two persons including a boy were injured in a mysterious explosion at a construction site of MG Construction Company at Gund in Banihal at 11.15 pm on Friday night.
DC, Ramban,Mussarat Islam, SP,Ramban, PD Nitya, SDPO, SDM and officers of Police,military and para-military forces had rushed to the spot and a joint search operation was launched by the police,military and para-military forces in around the site besides the NH44 especially at Chenani-Nashri Tunnel, Jawahar Tunnel and the newly constructed 8.5 Km road tunnel in Banihal.
Reportedly, the injured Gopal Sharma,35 S/O Ratan Lal of Udhampur was sleeping inside the residential shed when the blast took place while as Mohammad Aquib Naik,16 son of Ghulam Ahmed resident of Mangat who was a student of Madrasa was injured when the broken window panes of the Madrasa hit him due to the blast .
The under-construction office of BJP, District President, Mohammed Salim Bhat and a Madrasa is situated in the vicinity of the site. The window panes of the Madrasa were also reportedly damaged due to the explosion.
SP, Ramban, PD Nitya said that it appears to be an act of sabotage but reality will come to fore only after the completion of discreet enquiry. Meanwhile, according to police sources, a small quantity of explosive and a detonator were recovered by the Army's Quick Response Team lying beside the NH44 in Ramsu early morning today.
