Civil Society members call on Div Com Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 7: A deputation of Civil Society members led by S Balvinder Singh along with S Manjit Singh, S Rajinder Singh Sudan, Sh Harish Soi & S Sharanjit Singh met Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Ragav Langar and discussed issues with regard to various projects taken under Jammu Smart City Mission.
They put forth some of the points which needs to be taken into account so that the essence of making Jammu as Smart City is addressed and the quality of different projects is checked at this stage when all the works are being taken up.
Balvinder apprised the Worthy Divisional Commissioner that there are number of flaws in the installation of Way Finding Signages and lack of workmanship, which is contradictory to the declaration of the consultant , Rodic Consultant Pvt Limited in their website that they are committed to quality and Stringent adherence to global bench mark of Excellence .
They also urged upon Div Com to constitute committee of PWD Engineers and Officers from Traffic Department to look into the issue of flawed installation of Way Finding Signage in Jammu City and number of other Traffic Management Projects and make the erring officers of all the three the Consultants accountable.
The deputation urged upon the Divisional Commissioner to involvereputed and experienced local Engineers from PWD, PDD, PHE, Irrigation & Flood control etc for the supervision of the works related to their respective fields, being executed under Smart City projects and make it mandatory for the Officers of the Consultant Companies to accept the supervisory role of Local Engineers during the execution of various projects of Smart City
