Councillor takes stock of development activities | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 7: BJP leader and councillor of Ward 69 of Sainik Colony, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa took stock of the development of Ward 69 of Sainik Colony. She assured the residents that works of the improvement of the colony are taken with various deptts. During the first half of the financial year, the works of drains, roads, beautification of parks, tiling, culvert etc have been executed in the ward. The proactive approach saved us from damages during the monsoon. Steady pace of work was ensured despite lockdowns due to COVID-19. "Every promise of mine to the residents during my election campaign will be fulfilled but in a phased manner," she said while inaugurating the tile work in Sector "C" of Sainik Colony worth Rs 7 lakhs. The plantation drive by the Urban Forestry Department is progressing smoothly. The aim of plantation drive is to make Sainik Colony a green zone of Smart City of Jammu. The Sainik Colony Cooperative House Building Society to which the residents are paying development and transfer charges should be proactive in resolving day to day problems of residents. Every resident owner /plot allottee is a member of the society and I am elected by the members of the society but till date the colony does not have an Office for the Corporator. The society has not allotted space for office despite my numerous requests. The work sanctioned for the office lapsed because Society failed to provide "No Objection Certificate.'. A large No of residents were present during the inauguration of tiling work including Alkesh, Inderjeet Kour, Charanjeet Sing Charak, Ashok Samayal, Amreak Singh, Sanjeev. |
