DC assess implementation of Govt sponsored schemes on ground; listens to public grievances | Public outreach program held at remote Goran village | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 7: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta, along with district and sectoral officer today held a public outreach programme at remote village Goran of Block Sumb and assessed on ground implementation of govt sponsored schemes besides listened to the public grievances. During the programme, Vice Chairman District Development Council, Balwan Singh; Block Development Chairman Sumb Romesh Singh; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidharath Dhiman; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tehsildar, Executive Engineers PWD, Jal Shakti, PDD besides other district officers and sectoral officers were also present. The outreach programme led by the Deputy Commissioner was held in accordance with the Government directions to bring administration to door steps and enhance on spot resolutions of public grievances. The event saw participation of PRI members including Sarpanches, Panches and local public who appraised the District Administration regarding various issues. They demanded sanctioning of new & maintenance of existing roads, adequate power supply, clean and hygienic drinking water supply, Internet connectivity, tapping of Tourism potential, upgrading of government schools and hospitals besides other local issues. The Vice Chairman, District Development Councils, while speaking on the occasion said that the public has welcomed the directions of the Government regarding promoting participatory democracy and on spot public resolving mechanisms. The Deputy Commissioner, while addressing the public, informed that each panchayat Ghar in the district will be developed as a 'lighthouse' having details of each government sponsored schemes as it is the primary building block in participatory democracy. The DC, while taking cognizance of the issues raised on the occasion, directed Executive Engineer Jal Shakti to supply water through tankers and ensure the maintenance of all water pumping machinery so that public grievances are minimized especially during the prevailing hot weather conditions. The DC also laid emphasis upon PDD and PWD departments to immediately ensure that all grievances are resolved in a time bound manner. |
