Jammu, Aug 7: 2 J&K Girl Bn NCC of GDC, R.S. Pura inaugurated AZADI SAPTAH under “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.
To observe independence day celebrations, a visual chart exhibition cum competition on the theme Revive the Weave was organised on National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi movement.
The cadets made very colourful and educational charts representing various handlooms of the country like Ikkat from Orissa, Phulkari from Punjab, Pashmina from Kashmir, Bandhani from Rajasthan, Chikankari from Lukhnow, Patan Patola from Gujarat, Kanjivaram from Tamil Nadu etc... Cadet Sanchi Chib, Cadet Bharti and Cadet Palvi Devi bagged first, second and third prize respectively whereas Delta coy bagged overall best in exhibition. A total of 22 cadets’ participated in the activities under the guidance of Lt. Shaveta Choudhary. |
