JMC Mayor laid foundation stone of Animal carae centre

Jammu, Aug 26: Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta along with Deputy Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma in presence of Hon’ble chairman social justice Kuldeep Singh Chib, Hon’ble Corporator ward no.62 Smt. Rekha Manhas, worthly Commissioner Avny Lavasa MVO JMC Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma and Executive Engineer Div.3rd Sh. Ashwani Gupta today laid foundation stone of Municipal Animal Care Centre-2 (Veterinary Hospital) on 5 kanals of JDA land acquired by the JMC through proper transfer process at Roop Nagar Jammu.
JMC in its pragmatic approach to ensure round the clock better treatment care to the speechless creations took the initiative for the creation of separate treatment facility where all provision will be kept for large/small animals like proper housing/kennels, OPD Rooms, OT Rooms, Lab Rooms equipped with blood testing facility, X-Ray machine and ultra sound machine etc.
At present JMC is having only one such centre where beside providing treatment care to the sick/injured rescued stray animals, ABC programme to control the stray dogs population within JMC limits is also going on and it was getting difficult to run both the sections smoothly in the same premises.
In the first phase of work, boundary wall work will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 17.27 lakh and for the construction of Internal structures like Sheds, kennels, OPD Rooms, OT Rooms, Staff Rooms etc architect designing is under way and will be completed very soon as apprised by the engineering wing of JMC to the Hon’ble Mayor. With the creation of separate treatment facility, the ongoing ABC programme will also be gear up to contain the menace of stray dogs population Within stipulated time period with in JMC limits.
Mayor appealed to the Jammuties to cooperate with JMC for making Jammu city Neat, Clean and Green and reiterated that we will strive to work hard for improving the civic amenities in the city.
