Babu’s ‘selective admiration’ for Pvt hospital raises eyebrows! | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: In a move that has triggered a controversy in medical fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir, a senior official awarded a medico of a private nursing home alongside the medical superintendent of a government hospital raising questions over the award ceremony. Official documents reveal that on August 21, a senior official enjoying a key posting in Srinagar felicitated two doctors. One of them was from a leading government hospital established by the Dogra Maharajas and the other one was from a private nursing home. “In continuation to the recognition and acknowledgment of the efforts of the people who relentlessly rendered selfless services during the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, the District Administration Srinagar today felicitated Medical Superintendents,” the official documents said. Doctors said it was “injustice that the government was recognizing services of only one private nursing home and that others were being ignored.” “Terming it the recognition and acknowledgment of the efforts of the people who relentlessly rendered selfless services during the deadly Covid-19 for one specific private hospital raises questions over the selection for the award. Did the other private nursing homes not function during the Covid19 or was there something else to felicitate only one of them,” the aggrieved told Early Times. The development has also drawn concern from the medical fraternity in Jammu as well. “Why is the government not honoring the medical fraternity of Jammu on similar lines or is there more to it than meets the eyes?” said a senior medico working in the Government Medical College Jammu on the condition of anonymity. |
