Higher-ups trying to hide fraud fraudulent appointments in SDD | Daal Main Kala! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: With much publicity, the Jammu and Kashmir government had re-constituted a fact-finding committee on January 15 this year to examine fraudulent appointments in Skill Development Department (SDD) but nothing has come out so far. Even after passing over 20 months, the authorities have failed to dig out facts about fraudulent appointments made in the SDD and Autonomous Bodies/ Corporations. Highly placed sources said that except for formulating committees nothing has been done so far during the last year in J&K. “Fact-finding committee has nothing special as it is like other committees constituted by the government from time to time just to befool the people”, sources said and added that relatives of some influential persons were appointed fraudulently in the SDD and other departments so those at the helms of the affairs could not muster guts to take any action in this regard. Following failure of the earlier panels the Government, in supersession of order of May 11, 2019, had reconstituted the “Fact finding committee to examine fraudulent appointments in the SDD and Autonomous Bodies, Corporations and Organizations under its administrative control. Principal Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department was made chairman of the committee and Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction and Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department were its members. The reconstituted committee was directed to identify those responsible for fraudulent appointments and submit its report by February 15, 2021. Highly placed sources said that the panel had detected that a large number of persons were engaged in the SDD without following any proper procedure. The majority of them were engaged on the recommendations of the politicians who were at the helm of affairs during the period between 2010 and 2018. Despite submitting the report by the panel, no action has been taken against those who had made these illegal recruitments. |
