| Youth Congress protests against NMP policy | | |  KATHUA, Aug 26: Youth Congress activists held a massive demonstration at Chhan Aroria (Marheen) against the Modi government under the chairmanship of Kathua District Youth Congress President Romi Sharma.
Talking to the media, Romi Sharma said that the Narendra Modi-led NDA government has privatized 13 sectors under the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP). This is a clear attempt to sell strategically important sectors from roads to railway stations, airports to shipping ports to private entities. This issue is very sensitive and serious and needs to be opposed at all costs. Rahul Gandhi has already announced in a press conference on August 24 that Congress will not allow this coercive sale of precious assets of our country, he added.
Romi Sharma said that today Youth Congress is on the streets against Modi government’s decision to sell the country.
The wealth created by the hard work of 70 years by the Congress will not be allowed to be handed over to the friends of Modi. For this, Youth Congress will protest all over the country and until the Modi government withdraws the decision, this demonstration will continue in every tehsil in the entire district of Kathua, he added.
District Youth Congress General Secretary Varun Sharma and Panch Pradeep Sharma also participated in the protest.
