EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Aug 26: A delegation of general public of Jammu city met Gurmeet Singh Distt General Secretary Congress and President Beopar Mandal and told that the general public is being looted by the private doctors and other investigation centres.
At Present the business is zero and income is also zero as such people are being harassed and looted by the doctors.
During the period when the covid 19 is still going on the OPD’s in the Govt hospital have been order not to attend the patients as such the public has no other alternative except to go to private doctors who also give consultation online and ask the patients to deposit fees in their account and don’t attend the patients physically.
Private consultation fees of doctors have been enhanced and fixed Rs 500 - 700. This consultation fees has been fixed according to their own choice and there is no check of the UT Govt for fixation of the consultation fees which is not tolerable by the General Public. Govt may please fix consultation fee according to the qualification of the doctors. It is the opinion of the public that doctor is next to God but during this period when COVID-19 is still there and the business is zero the doctor should reduce their fees but on the other hand they are going to loot the General Public by enhancing the fees.
The medicines prescribed by the private doctors only available in their own pharmacy and not available in the open market which is clear cut a loot made by the doctors, the public informed.
ECG, ECO, EEG, X Ray, ultrasound, City scan and MRI centres have enhanced and raised rates so much according to their own will and no check if being exercised by the Govt to curv these highest charges made by the Private Investigation Centres. The Govt may please see these rates and fix as per the Govt rates, it added.
