DCOE organizes workshop on soft skills

Jammu, Sept 3: Dogra College of Education under IQAC organized three days workshop on Soft skills conducted online through Google Meet.
The proceedings of the workshop started with the welcome address by Dr. Shefali Sharma, IQAC Coordinator Dogra College of Education. In her address she gave a brief description about the importance of Soft skills for Language & Personality development in present scenario and also ensured that this kind of workshop should be organized for the enhancement of the communication skills among the faculty & Teacher Trainees.
The Resource Person on the occasion was Mr.Rohit Sharma, Lecturer English, and DCE. Three days workshop was attended by both the Faculty and Teacher Trainees with an urge in their heart to learn and work on their communication skills which are important for their career and professional development.
Resource person aware the participants by informing them that there are various soft skills namely Listening, Communication, Work Ethics etc. which have to be practiced well so that we all have good communication skills. Resource person highlighted the importance of six soft skills with the help of PowerPoint presentation. On the first day of the workshop, Listening & Communication Skills were the two skills discussed in which the resource person explained how important the skill of listening for effective communication skills. During the Second day of the workshop, Soft skills discussed were Work Ethics & Leadership Skills in which he explained how important are the work ethics and about the qualities of a good leader. On the third and final day of the workshop, two remaining soft skills namely Professional & Individual Development were discussed in which he briefed the audience about the importance of Professional & Individual Development .Three days workshop concluded on a good note as the resource person is successful in providing awareness to the Faculty and Teacher Trainees and was off the view that we have to work on our communication skills for better Personal & Professional Development. Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal DCE, in his address appreciated the efforts of the IQAC cell of College for organizing the workshop. After the workshop, Interactive session was organized in which Faculty shared their experiences in the form of feedback and suggestions were provided for further improvement which are welcomed by the resource person.
