3 months on, CT Scan machine defunct at Kishtwar hospital | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Sept 3: At a time when COVID-19 cases and accidents are on rise in Kishtwar and frequent earthquakes have made the life of people miserable, not a single CT scan machine is functional in the district hospital Kishtwar. Social Activist Naseer Ahmed Baghwan while talking to Early Times lamented that people are forced to get a CT Scan conducted from private diagnostic centers. He said that a CT scan machine in District hospital Kishtwar has been defunct for the past three months. “Health department has failed to repair it,” he added. Baghwan said that district hospital Kishtwar lacks basic health care facilities which has made the lives of patients more difficult. The population of district Kishtwar is more than 2.5 lakhs and for doing a simple CT scan, one has to travel to Doda, Jammu or Srinagar. He urged the Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir and District Development Commissioner Kishtwar to take appropriate measures to equip the hospitals with proper equipment. |
