Babus maligning LG’s image by erecting hoardings at wrong places | ‘Road To Every Village’ | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: A big hoarding at Panama Chowk here reads: “A Road To Every Village” but the irony is that the place where the hoarding has been set up is surrounded by a dilapidated road. An observer while talking to Early Times said, “Bureaucrats are maligning the image of the Lieutenant Governor by erecting the hoardings in the heart of the city where roads are in shambles.” He said, “Roads in the city are in a bad shape, one can imagine the plight of the roads in rural areas.” The observer said, “The bureaucrats should realize that roads cannot be repaired by erecting hoardings. For building a road to every village development has to be visible on the ground and not on the hoardings and on papers only.” It’s in place to mention here that many roads in Jammu city are in a very bad shape and despite people approaching the concerned authorities these have not been repaired. Last week shopkeepers of Jain Bazar in the heart of Jammu city staged a protest against the authorities for their failure to repair the road in the area. They also observed a 2-hour shutdown to attract the attention of the helmsmen. |
