Ward No. 68: Residents of posh colony Greater Kailash, Jalo Chak village face many problems | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 8: Ward No. 68 in Greater Kailash area despite being a posh colony in Jammu city faces a number of issues. “ In our area we have never seen any officer supervising the construction works in our area. After the work is allotted to the contractor, no one comes to check the quality of the work that is carried out,” locals said. They said that the drains have been poorly built and during the rainy season these get filled up within a short span of time and flood our homes. A resident said that one year ago he had approached the Power department with a complaint that the electric pole near his house is tilted but till date no one has come to even have a look at the pole. Next to the Greater Kailash area is Jalo Chak village, where there is no outlet for rain water to pass. People of this village have to pass through the nallah to reach the main road. “When it rains this nallah gets filled and people have to remain indoors till the water level recedes,” locals said. They said that they have been waiting for the development to happen for the past many years but till date not much has been done. |
