Poonch, Sept 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) issuing three lists for viva-voice for the post of Assistant Information Officer (AIO) has put a question mark on the entire selection process. According to the details available with Early Times the JKSSB conducted written exams for the recruitment to the post of Assistant Information Officers on December 20, 2020 and invited 145 qualified candidates for document verification vide its order number SSB/Secy/Sel/2021/2662-68 dated: 05.03.2021, thereafter the JKSSB issued another notice and reduced the number of candidates and invited only 91 qualified candidates for the interview/viva-voice vide its order number SSB/Secy/Sel/2021/3367-73 dated 08.04.2021 and later on issued another order mentioning COVID-19 issue and postponed the interviews vide order number SSB/COE/AIO/2021/ 3328-34 dated 16.04.2021.
The JKSSB remained in deep slumber for over five months and issued another order for interviews vide order number SSB/Secy/Sel/2021/1171-78 dated 09.09.2021 where the actual reason for delay in interviews wa

According to these orders the board removed three candidates from Jammu including a Darshan Kumar Sr. No 1 item no 035 (08 of 2010) vide order number SSB/Secy/Sel/2021/3367-73 dated 08.04.2021 from the State Cadre post and replaced thirteen candidates from Kashmir province, who were not in the previous list of qualified candidates. Even they added two more candidates from Kashmir division who were not in the previous qualified list and invited a total ninety candidates whereas in the previous interview call they had invited ninety one candidates.
They also shifted some candidates of RBA category from General list to RBA category list just to accommodate them, said Darshan Kumar.
Kumar said that he has approached the concerned authorities and lodged a complaint but till date no action has been taken. He appealed to Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, to intervene and get the discrepancies probed and take necessary action at the earliest.
When contacted Chairman JKSSB, Jehangir Hussain, said, “The numbers were wrongly calculated earlier. These were recalculated and candidates were invited accordingly.”
