Under Mission 'Frari Ki Giraftari', Reasi Police nabs 5 absconding surrendered terrorists among 21

JAMMU, Sept 30: Reasi Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested 21 persons including five absconding surrendered terrorists from parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Shailendra Singh said five absconding surrendered terrorists among 21 are arrested while 100 absconding criminals are also arrested under admission 'Frari Ki Giraftari'.
The SSP said long chase of more than 30 years for 12 absconders and more than 20 years for 18 absconders, one absconder arrested after 35 years of commission of crime.
'Frari Giraftari' is a drive against underground criminals and absconders untitled by Reasi Police steering ahead in its mission against outlaws who are evading arrests since years.
In another round of chase, raids and searches, multiple teams of Reasi Police arrested 21 more absconders evading arrests since years and executed 35 Warrants in last four weeks.
The SSP said 100 absconding criminals which includes four OGW's, 10 Surrendered terrorists, five murder and attempt to murder accused, 19 were involved in Kidnapping and Rape, nine were involved in drug peddling and 53 were involved in other offences evading arrests since years, are arrested and produced in the concerned courts since since May 2021 and executed 154 General Warrants of Arrest issued by Courts.
"Out of these 100 absconders 12 arrested after 30 years, 18 after 20 years, 31 apprehended after 10 years and 39 were arrested after five years of commission of crime. Meanwhile, 10 absconders under pressure of being caught have opted to surrender before the concerned courts of district than being caught by Reasi Police," said Singh.
Singh conveyed that arrests of these criminals is important police work to maintain peace and tranquility in the area and Reasi Police will leave no stone unturned to arrest and produce them in concerned trial court of law.
To proactively tighten noose against the criminals, six months back, District Police Reasi recommended nine cases for cancellation of Gun Licenses with dossiers of history Sheeters of the district. Seven Gun Licenses have been cancelled and two cases are under process, he said.
