Anuradha Jangid creates ‘best out of waste'; says everything has utility | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 30: Anuradha Jangid has carved a niche in creating “best out of waste.” Her work is on display at Jammu Haat here. In a chat with Early Times, Anuradha said, “My art is proof that nothing is a waste. And if there is a will, anything can be created out of nothing.” Anuradha said that she had a passion towards art from her very childhood and parents supported her in every possible way. “The COVID-19 lockdown helped me to concentrate on my work as there was nothing to do.” Displaying a flower vase presented to her mother-in-law by her mother-in-law, Anuradha said, “It was an antique piece which my mother-in-law had preserved but it was not in a proper shape. I worked on it and turned it into a beautiful flower vase.” Anuradha’s work that is on display at Jammu Haat comprises bottles and mugs that she has given wonderful shapes. She has converted many small things made of clay into useful items. “I have drawn inspiration from my grandmother as she taught us how to create something out of the waste. She was my first teacher.” Anuradha, who hails from Rajasthan, said, “We have an artist in every house in Rajasthan.” “It’s for the first time I am participating in an exhibition. The Hausla scheme of the government has given me a lot of hausla (encouragement).” Anuradha said, “I am trying to teach my craft to youngsters through a channel on youtube. My message to all is that nothing is a waste, you just have to put in some effort to turn waste into a product. Everything has a utility.” |
