4 months on, CT scan machine defunct at Kishtwar hospital | 3 accident victims referred to Jammu, people continue to suffer | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Sept 29: Three persons were wounded in an accident in remote Anjole area of Thakrie block of Kishtwar District last night. They were rushed to Kishtwar Hospital but had to be referred to Jammu as the CT scan machine was not working in the institution. The injured were identified as Sumit Sharma S/O Kailash Kumar, Anchal @Ashish Sharma S/O Ashok Kumar and Avinaash Sharma S/O Bansi Lal all residents of Anjole Thakrie. Residents while talking to Early Times slammed the Health Department for its failure to get the CT Scan machine repaired. “It has been defunct for the past four months. Had the injuries been more severe anything could have happened as doctors needed an immediate CT scan to decide the line of treatment,” they said. A source said that CT Scan machine has been defunct for the want of funds to purchase power bank and transformer and other supporting equipment required to make it run. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar while addressing a press conference recently stated that the problem will be addressed shortly and CT Scan machine will be made functional. |
