| Police recover 55 kg poppy straw, 2 held | | |

KATHUA, Sept 30: In Its recent action against drug dealings and to neutralize the activities of drug peddlers within district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua R C Kotwal-JKPS had recovered approx. 55 Kg's of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) narcotics in the JD of PS Hiranagar.
According to police reports on September 30, 2021 a Police team of P/S Hiranagar led by Insp. Anil Kumar Sharma SHO P/S Hiranagar during naka checking duty at Dayalachak noticed one suspicious truck bearing Registration No JK22B-3119 which was on route from Jammu towards Kathua, was stopped for checking. On physical checking of the vehicle approx. 55 Kg Poppy Straw (Bhukki) was recovered from two plastic bags. The accused has been identified as driver Latif Ahmed S/o Abdul Rehman Tehsil & District Pulwama and his accomplice Arif Bashir S/o Bashir Ahmed Lone R/o Nassarpur Shopian. On this a case under FIR No. 128/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Hiranagar. |
