Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 30: The month long drive 'Poshan Maah' concluded at Government Degree College (GDC) Jindrah today. On the concluding day, the NSS unit along with the Principal, staff and volunteers distributed nutritional kits comprises of fruits, juices and other eatable items among the SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition) children of Brick kiln laborers of the Jindrah village. The volunteers and staff contributed voluntarily for the purchase of nutritional kit. The whole programme was carried out under the supervision of Dr Sunil Sharma, Program officer, NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah. Prof Rajshree Dhar, Principal, GDC Jindrah highly appreciated the untiring efforts of the NSS team during the whole month. The series of events done under month long Poshan Maah were compiled and reported by Dr Seema, Librarian and member of NSS team of GDC, Jindrah. A bunch of multiple activities were carried out during the whole month. In the first week of the month multiple plantation drives were held in different parts of surrounding areas of Jindrah village which is also adopted by the NSS unit of GDC Jindrah. In the second week, in collaboration with AYUSH, two day Yoga workshop and medical camp were held throughout the Jindrah village. In the third week, survey was done to identify malnutrition children and nutritional kits comprising food items, vegetables, fruits, pulses etc were distributed among these children. The locals appreciated the tireless efforts of NSS unit and volunteers through the month of 'Poshan Maah'. |
