CUJ conducts pacement drive at MAM College | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 30: Central University of Jammu (CUJ) in collaboration with Department of Higher Education, Jammu and Kashmir (UT) conducted a placement drive at MAM College, Jammu. The placement drive was a part of project on employability skills training initiated by Department of Higher Education under the guidance and leadership of Sushma Chauhan, Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department & Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ has been the mentor for the academic drive of this project. Prof Devanand, Chairman and Administrator of the project briefed that the initiative is an endeavour to provide skill based training to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir under the skill initiative of the Government of J&K. Central University of Jammu is the academic partner in skilling initiatives of HEI under HED wherein vocational trainings and employability trainings is being provided to over more than seven hundred students across twenty colleges in J&K. The project team members Prof Jaya Bhasin, Dr Bachha Babu, Dr Neelika Arora informed that this appreciable collaborative initiative of the DHE and CU Jammu is yielding results on the ground. This placement drive is the first in the series of other placement opportunities that have been lined up in near future. IT based MNC with its headquarters at New Zealand offered internships and placements to the students in the drive. Prof GS Rakwal, Principal MAM College appreciated the efforts of the team and expressed great satisfaction over the placement drive. Prof Bharti Salathia, Dr Namita Singh, Dr Bhanu Priya coordinated the drive on behalf of the college. Dr Bhavna Arora, from CUJ coordinated the placement drive with regards to IT initiatives. The team placed on record gratitude and lauded the efforts of Director Higher Education as also Prof Sunil Uppal, for their vision and catalytic efforts. |
