| GGM Science College organizes ‘Clean India: Safe India’ drive | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 3: NSS unit of GGM Science College under the patronage of Principal Dr Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr Deepali Mahajan organized a cleanliness drive with in the campus of the college under the ‘Clean India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’: a country wide campaign initiated by the government of India celebrating Gandhi Jayanti under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. This drive was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr Tickoo.
He said that from October 1 to 31, the government has launched the Clean India Drive to clean waste and to focus mainly on single-use plastic.
The purpose of the drive is to promote “Clean India: Safe India”. Cleanliness should be joined by all citizens. Students are the real ambassadors of cleanliness and motivate others to keep their homes, schools, colleges and surroundings clean. NSS PO Dr Deepali Mahajan with the volunteers took Swachhta pledge.
Taking the broom to sweep the campus, cleaning up the surroundings, focusing on sanitation and maintaining a hygienic environment have become a practice after the launch of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
