Bhagwat’s visit boost morale: RSS on expansion mode in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 4: The just-concluded four-day visit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has boosted the morale of the activists of Sangh Parivar to work with more dedication and commitment to achieve the target. As the RSS is going to celebrate 100 years of its foundation in 2025, the visit of its chief was aimed at chalking out programmes for the next four years to expand its footprints in almost all nooks and corners of the Union Territory. Although RSS has termed Sarsanghchalak's (chief) visit as a routine affair to review the functioning of the organization, this tour assumes significance in the sense that for the first time Sangh Parivar's chief visited J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A. During the indoor meetings, the RSS chief sought feedback from different off-shoots of the Sangh Parivar regarding the positive impact on Jammu and Kashmir after the post-August 5, 2019 situation. He also sought suggestions of the J&K unit of the Sangh to formulate a comprehensive programme for the overall development of J&K after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A. J&K was and will always be on the core of Sangh Parivar’s agenda. In his four successive Vijaydashi addresses, the RSS chief has made it a point to mention Jammu and Kashmir in his speech. After constitutional changes in J&K, RSS is assiduously trying to expand its footprints in all parts of the Union Territory. Already Sangh Parivar has started in activities in Kashmir Valley. In connection with the 100 years celebrations, RSS is going to further expand its work in J&K. As reported in a section of media, renovating and reviving deserted temples in the Kashmir Valley to the expansion of new Shakhas in the higher reaches of the Himalayas, the RSS seems to be on an expansion mode in Jammu and Kashmir. RSS is now trying to revive deserted temples not only in the valley region but also in Jammu. On reviving ancient temples in the state, the RSS in its annual report (2019), says: “‘Purmandal’ is a holy place on the banks of Devika river, 40 km away from Jammu. Once a center of Sanskrit learning, over a period of time, this place has been ignored. To revive its (temple) importance a trust has been formed.” RSS has already launched a mega project called “Ekal Vidyalaya” (one teacher, one class). The concept is that a single teacher virtually runs a small school in a single class. Remote villages where education has not yet reached are covered under Ekal Vidyalaya. |
