CCI condemns minority community killings in Kashmir
Urges govt to deal with situation on top priority
10/7/2021 11:31:04 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 7: Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Jammu has strongly condemned the continuous killings in Kashmir Valley during the past few days especially the three killings in an hour on Tuesday evening and the killing of the principal and teacher today.
In an urgent meeting held at Chamber house under the presidentship of Arun Gupta along with the office bearers Anil Gupta, Sr Vice President, Rajeev Gupta Jr Vice President, Gaurav Gupta, Secretary General and Rajesh Gupta, Secretary.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Gupta said that by targeting innocent people and non locals the terrorists are trying to create fear among them especially among the members of minority communities including Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs. Asserting that members of these communities are soft targets for the terrorists, he urged the Central Govt to take serious note of such unabated killings and take stringent action against the culprits to stop such killings before it is too late.
The Chamber of Commerce President said that it is a matter of serious concern that innocent people are being killed in broad daylight in Kashmir which is a matter that needs to be taken very seriously. He said that although it is an open secret that Pakistan is aiding and abetting terrorism in J&K yet it is the duty of the Govt to make the lives of the vulnerable groups secure especially in the valley as every single life is precious and terrorists and antinational elements cannot be allowed to strike at will. He said that if the Govt fails to put a full stop on the killings then it could trigger another mass migration of minorities and non locals from the valley besides encouraging polarization. Moreover it would have a disastrous impact on the proposed investments by outsiders in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory aimed at unprecedented development of industries and creating unlimited job avenues.
Arun Gupta while appreciating the role of security forces in annihilating terrorists said that it is the result of anger and frustration among handful of terrorists operating in Kashmir that these terrorists have now resorted to target killings of innocents to make their presence felt and simultaneously creating fear psychosis among the minority community people. He appealed to the Union Govt led by PM Modi and the UT Administration led by LG Manoj Sinha to deal with the present crisis on top priority by further intensifying its ongoing operation clean against the subversives or else it would be too late.
