In J&K only photo shoots are happening: Farooq Abdullah | Situation returning to 1990s, innocent killings shocking’ | | ‘ Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 7: National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, on Thursday said that situation is returning back to nineties and J&K has become a place for photo opportunities. In an interview to national Channel Dr Abdullah said, “Only photo shoots are here, so and so is opening this, and so and so is opening that. The ground situation is grim as innocents are getting killed. These killings are worrying for all of us. After so many years we had seen peace and tourism was picking but these killings are a big setback. Makhan Lal Ji was killed, an ordinary street vendor was shot dead, a transporter was killed and now two teachers, including a woman. If everything is hunky dory then why are civilians being killed?” he asked. Dr Abdullah said that the Government of India should take a note of “deteriorating situation” in Jammu and Kashmir and take corrective measures. |
