JAMMU, Oct 7: Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM), Jammu organized a felicitation function at Ranbir School today to confer ‘Amar Utsav Nav Lekhan Tej Puraskar- 2020’ on Kajal Suri, for her first ever published book of Hindi poetry titled ‘Khwabon Ki Chandani’. Prof. Kiran Bakshi and Dr. Nirmal Vinod, advisors of HSM, presided over the function. The function was attended by a number of intellectuals, writers and artists.
Prof. Raj Kumar, President HSM welcomed the guests. He gave a brief of the activities and programmes of HSM.
Introduction of the awardee writer Kajal Suri was presented by Monto Dutta Sharma. A paper on the critical evaluation on the book ‘Khwabon Ki Chandani’, written by Prof. Jaishankar Prasad Dwedi, Editor Bhojpuri Sahitya Sarita was read out by Sanjeev Bhasin, Vice- President HSM.
Speaking on the work of Kajal, Prof. Bakshi and Dr. Nirmal appreciated the initiative taken by the family of Late Tejbhan Gulati to promote Hindi and the writers of Hindi language. They also appreciated of Kajal Suri for her contribution in the field of theatre and literature.
It may be mentioned here that the Nav Lekhan Tej Puraskar was initiated in 2018 as Amrit Utsav of Hindi Sahitya Mandal in the memory of Late Tej Gulati, by the members of his family. A cash of Rs. 11, 000, a commendation and a shawl is presented to the award winner.
