SIF urges HM to take harsh steps to root out militancy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 23: All J&K1947 POJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum (SIF) called an emergency meeting of its core committee members under the chairmanship of Adv Amrik Singh. Secretary of the Forum Surjit Singh also joined the meeting. The Forum welcomed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit in J&K UT at this crucial time when gun culture and militancy in Kashmir is increasing day by day and selective killings is going on with the result outsider labourers are fleeing the Valley. The Forum urged upon the MHA to take the harsh steps to root out the militancy so that confidence may be restored amongst the minorities. They further reiterated that the employees working in government offices in Valley are provided with security so that the mass migration could be stopped. The Forum expressed their concern over the main demands of release of remaining comprehensive package of Rs 30 lacs for each POJK DPS of 1947. The Forum appealed to Amit Shah to release pending amount of comprehensive financial package and that of PoJK refugees’ left out properties claims be registered in a time bound period. The prominent members who attended the meeting are Inder Singh Councillor, Sucha Singh Councillor, Paramjit Singh ex-Councillor, Tirath Kaur Councillor, Sudesh Kumar Sharma and others. |
