Randhawa demands compensation for damaged crops | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 23: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) and Secretary Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) J&K Vikram Randhawa, today visited various villages and took stock of the damages occurred to the standing crops due to hailstorm and torrential rains which lashed heavily in plains of Jammu. Randhawa said that the hailstorm has damaged the standing paddy and crops of farmers badly and demanded immediate compensation of the same. He said that the farmers are the worst sufferers of COVID-19 pandemic with no other source of earning. He said that as now the crops were ready and the farmers were preparing to harvest the hailstorm has damaged it totally. Randhawa said that BJP is committed to the welfare of farmers and assured them that the issue will be taken up with the administration so that they are compensated for their losses. “I will personally take up the matter with the concerned authorities and will follow it till they will be compensated”, Randhawa added. |
