Police rescues 18 bovines in Samba, arrests bovine smuggler | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Oct 23: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 18 bovines after arresting a bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. A party of police station Ghagwal, while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal signalled to stop a truck bearing registration number JKO8F/ 6295 which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards valley. On seeing the naka party, the driver accelerated the speed of vehicle and tried to flee from the spot. The alert cops apprehended the driver along with truck. During checking of the said vehicle, 18 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The accused driver identified as Mohammad Yaqoob S/O Jamal Din R/O Saral, Haveli, Poonch was arrested. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot. In this regard, a case FIR No. 178/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started. |
