| GDC Ramgarh organizes webinar to celebrate Iconic week | | |

SAMBA, Oct 23: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organized a webinar to celebrate Iconic week on on the theme “Dogri Bhasha Chunautiya Ante Avsar” with the encouragement and support of Dr Meeru Abrol, Principal of the college.
In her formal welcome address Dr Meeru Abrol lauded the efforts of the Department of Dogri for organizing the webinar to promote our mother tongue among the students which is recognized as a national language of India in the Indian constitution.
She said the role of writers for their continuous struggle to keep the language relevant has lead to its inclusion in the 8th schedule.
She said in contemporary times, it is important to read and write English language as it is a global language but at the same time regional languages should not be left out. She called for collective efforts to take regional languages to new heights.
Around 100 participants comprising of Associate Professors, Assistant Professors along with students from different colleges of J&K UT participated in the webinar.
The event started with an inaugural address by Dr Shamsher Lal, Assistant Professor, Department of Dogri. He extended his warm welcome to the patron of the event Dr Meeru Abrol, principal of GDC Ramgarh, Resource Person of the webinar and participants. Dr Sunil Kumar Mangoch, Assistant Professor in Dogri, GDC Vijaypur was the resource person of the webinar. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Ekta Rani, Department of Hindi. |
