AGRA, Oct 24: United Nations organization needs immediate reform otherwise it will lose its relevancy in the present world scenario. These views were expressed by different speakers in the 2nd international seminar /webinar organized by Buddha peace foundation at Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Kamla Nagara, Agra on the occasion of United Nations Day.
In her inaugural address Dennis O'Brien CEO Dome Consulting and the founder of many companies from San Jose , California , USA said that for the world peace it is not only important that different countries and United Nations must put its strength to check the warfare but it must also promote social sector. She said that unless hunger, poverty, illiteracy and deprivation continue there could be no peace in the world. She emphasized that this is very important that disparity among different nations must be reduced.
Bhavna Srivastav, Philanthropist, Transformational Speaker, and an author of two best selling books from Worcester, MA, USA also shared her experience as UNDP worker she said that it is very important to promote education in the world to promote world peace, by education one comes to know what is right and what is wrong. She also emphasized on promotion of health and medical services.
Shevata Rai Talwar, human rights activist from Dehradun emphasized on multi-dimensional role of United Nations. She said that if Gandhi and his principle of non-violence love and affection are promoted among the member nations, the world peace can be obviously realized.
Herbert Barasa Kajay, General Manager, Trust Industries Rwanda reviewing the conditions of few civil war driven African countries emphasized that United nation should not hesitate to deploy its peace keeping force in disturbed and destabilized countries, and should not wait until the condition gets spoiled beyond the point of correction. Balouch Bilal, accredited journalist and columnist in European Union, from France was very bold in describing the role of China in United Nations. He said that China is strongly influencing the United nations with its money power . And united nation is just a puppet of China.
Jignasa Pandey, Faculty of Art of Living from Mumbai said that individual peace and tranquility is quite important for world peace. She said that if we read ancient Indian scriptures like Vedas, we will be our self be instrumental in world peace.
