Rotary Club of Jammu City organises Polio Awareness Camp at Maratha Basti | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 24: On the occasion of World Polio Day, Rotary Club of Jammu City organised a Polio Awareness Camp at Maratha Basti, near Railway Station in order to sensitise the residents about the need to administer Polio Drops among the young children so that the scourge of Polio can be eradicated from the world. Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. Sandeep Beri, President, Rotary Club of Jammu City, urged the residents to ensure that every single eligible child is administered Polio Drops of designated days so that this dreadful disease can be wiped out from the face of the earth. He said that Polio eradication was one of the key projects of Rotary International which is spending millions of dollars every year in order to realise its dream of a Polio Free World. Others who spoke on the occasion included Rtn. J.K.Kuku Singh, Rtn. Ravinder Kaul and Rtn.Sanjay Gupta. Food packets were distributed on the occasion among the Children of the colony and they were urged to convince their parents to take them to Polio Drop Centres in January in order to save them from this dreaded disease. |
