Ambulance driver, two others died in Kishtwar snow storm at Sinthan top, Margan top | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 24: The weather furry continues to take heavy toll on public lives and property and in two different incidents in Kishtwar district, three persons including a driver of an ambulance died after they trapped in snow storm at Sinthan top and Margan of Kishtwar district. As per the details available with Early Times four persons including two drivers trapped in the middle of snow storm at Sinthan top situated at an altitude of 12,500 feet connecting Kishtwar district with Srinagar via Anantnag District of Kashmir province. As soon as their vehicles trapped in snow storm, they left their vehicles abandoned and run for the cover towards Kokarnag area, but unfortunately due to heavy snowfall and cold weather conditions, two of them didn’t sustain the cold and died. Soon after hearing about the trapping of four persons Dawood Majeed Son of Abdul Majeed, Amir Bashir Son of Bashir Ahmed Mattoo, Akther Hussain all resident of Dadpath Chatroo along with Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir Resident of Kuchhal were trapped in snowstorm, Kokarnag Police led by DySP Kokernag along with local army and officials of National Highway Infrastructure Development Authority of India launched a rescue operation and managed to save the lives of two persons namely Dawood Majeed and Amir Bashir, but unfortunately Akther Hussain and Mohammad Ramzan died in this tragic incident. Army and police later shifted the dead bodies to Kokarnag from where they will be shifted to their homes once the weather improved. Meanwhile, health department driver Kulwant Singh also died after he along with his ambulance trapped in a snow storm at Margon top. As per the details ambulance nearing JK-17 3793 along with driver deceased driver Kalwant Singh of District Hospital Kishtwar was dispatched on 22-10-21 to drop a female dead body to Pethgam Marwah. Contact was established with SDM Marwah who informed the administration that PDP Youth President Wasil Doolwal and his accomplice are safe at the residence of one of the local at Marwah added that however despite repeated requests and pleas, the deceased ambulance driver decided to move back. After coming to known about the missing of ambulance driver, search and rescue operation was launched by Warwan police and after hectic efforts, the ambulance was traced near Margan top and on its examination, the driver was found dead. Accordingly his dead body was shifted to Inshan Warwan. |
