Army flagged off 29 Kashmiri students to undertake education in APS Pithoragarh under Op Sadhbhavana | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 25: Army on Monday flagged off a batch of 29 students including three girls belonging to Underprivileged families from far flung areas of Kupwara district in Kashmir to undertake the education at the Army Public School Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand under the operation Sadbhavana programme. The students of class 8th and 9th standard who are from far flung areas of the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara were selected on the basis of their academic standards, source of income and living standard, an army officer told media persons. He said, these students will continue their studies till 12th class in the Army Public School Pithoragarh and their boarding and lodging besides the education expenses would be borne by the army and government. “It is a high time for the students to carve their future to serve their families, state and for the nation”, the army officer said, and added “I am happy that these 29 children are going for studies to Army Public School Pithoragarh which was established in 1996 to provide quality education to the students”. He said, It would be a life changing moment for these students to develop their personality and to become respectable citizens to serve their families, state and nation. He said only education can inspire young minds to pursue a path of progressive future and positive goals in life.
