JAMMU, Oct 25: Hindi Sahitya Mandal Jammu has instituted an annual award to commemorate the memory of Ramesh Mehta, prominent Hindi writer, Editor Shiraza for a long time and the former Secretary of the J&K Academy of Arts, Culture & Languages. Comprising of a cash purse of Rs. 11,000, a citation and a robe of honor, the Award titled ‘Ramesh Mehta Smriti Puraskar’ will be conferred for contribution in the broad fields of art- culture- music- theatre and literature, including writings on and about culture to an artist, cultural activist or writer from Jammu region, informed Dr. Raj Kumar, President of the Sahitya Mandal. Pavitra Mehta and Mukul Mehta, the daughter and son of the late writer Mehta will handle the adjudication process directly with the help of a Jury and sponsor the Award will be jointly awarded by HSM and the family ceremonially in a function every year.
