| JAMMU, Oct 25: NSS and EBSB Units of Govt Degree College, RS Pura in collaboration with Department of Botany organized a cleanliness campaign at village Dangre, RS Pura under Clean India Programme, an initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” under the guidance of Principal, Prof Sunil Uppal and supervision of Prof Bindu Kumari, HOD Botany. About 20 students participated in the cleanup drive by picking plastic items like wrappers, plastic bottles and polythene, cutting bushes thereby cleaning the premises. Afterwards, the NSS Volunteers interacted with the common masses present there and educated them about disadvantages of Single Use Plastics, segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes, use of green and blue bins etc. The Principal of the college applauded the efforts of NSS unit. |
