Sharnarthi Action Committee demands proper probe in land scam | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 6: Lauding the efforts of Dr. Raghav Langar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu to order lodging of an FIR against the revenue officers/officials responsible for missing the basic revenue documents of all kind of lands from the record rooms of Revenue Complex, Gole Gujral, Jammu, Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has termed it as an endorsement of its repeated demand for constitution of a high level committee of revenue experts to probe this major land scam as well as violation of Agrarian Reform Act, 1976 particularly in respect of DPs settlement on lands in rural area of Jammu region. The participants in the meeting appealed to LG Manoj Sinha and Principal Secretary Revenue Department Shaleen Kabra to take cognizance of this serous issue as it is the only appropriate time to put the rein on such revenue officials particularly Tehsildars and Patwaris involved in such illegal activities. "They have no fear of law and remain busy always in changing the status of land by missing the original records and making false entries in the revenue records at the whims and fancies of their masters for personal gains. JKSAC demands the constitution of a high level committee of revenue experts to probe the violation of Agrarian reform act as well as other laws committed by certain Tehsidhars and Patwaries. Such violators should be identified and be punished under law to restore the shattered faith of suffering people in good governance of govt. as claimed day to day," said Gurdev Singh, President - JKSAC. |
